The purpose of the Transparency Act is to promote businesses’ respect for human rights and decent working conditions. Here, you can find information on how we work towards this goal.
The Transparency Act came into effect in Norway on July 1, 2022, introducing new requirements for businesses regarding transparency and their efforts to uphold fundamental human rights and decent working conditions among business partners and throughout supply chains. The law applies to all large Norwegian companies and mandates due diligence assessments related to the risk of human rights violations in the supply chain, as well as reporting on identified risks and how they are managed.
The Act also ensures public access to information regarding these matters and how businesses address them. It establishes an obligation to respond to inquiries from organizations, consumers, and others about specific risk factors. This means you can send us questions regarding these topics and receive a response within a reasonable timeframe—no later than three weeks, or up to two months if additional information needs to be gathered.
